PBIx is the first independent index tracking the price of Peru's most iconic dish, pollo a la brasa, with a transparent, reproducible methodology and open data. Beta in Arequipa.

Peru's most consumed dish has no systematic measurement: there is no public benchmark, no structured dataset for researchers, and media coverage is anecdotal, with no time series or controlled sampling.
I designed the methodology (observation unit, variables and the median as the main statistic, base 100 in Q2 2026), supervised field collection district by district and built the digital product: a data terminal with district ranking, price distribution, an interpolated heat map and a public, versioned methodology.
